To update you – we achieved one of the highest fraternity GPA’s at SJSU; our goal is to be number one. We are finally starting major renovations to the bathrooms and plumbing. We have 20 pledges from this Fall Rush. We will soon have the largest active chapter since the early 1990’s. We survived a difficult period of low membership and managed to retain our cherished House, which still houses some of your fondest memories. We want to help our alumni get reconnected with their old brothers and the Active Chapter with a major event. Please join us for the 60th Anniversary White Rose Gala, November 12, honoring the founding brothers of Theta Mu Sigma and Zeta Iota. 60th Anniversary White Rose Gala: Date: Saturday, November 12 Location: DoubleTree Hotel (Hilton premier), San Jose V.I.P. Please purchase your Gala tickets now! We have reached a registered attendance of 200 Alumni/Guest/Actives. We have current accommodations for up to 250, with a possibility of increasing room size. There is only one more week to register -- don’t miss out! We will account for some last minute registrations, but strongly urge you to register now -- to help us make final planning and catering decisions before the hotel deadline. We are getting great feedback with high interest. Many people are traveling from all over the country to stay at the hotel -- with our preferred room rates. The Gala will be most enjoyable with the largest turn out possible. We urge you to contact your own network of brothers and motivate them to attend – with you; this method has been most effective. Consider purchasing a table of ten to reserve for your own group; this is most helpful. We have done the preparation to have a great evening of memories; now, you only need to sign up and show up. If you have old fraternity pictures, please scan them (reply by Email), or mail to Sigma Nu P.O. box (to be returned); we will display them at the 60th Anniversary. If you have a business you would like to promote via “sponsorships” to help support the Chapter, we have various options; (reply to email). We have planned a full week of events culminating with the White Rose Gala; highlights -- Golf, Celebration of 11-11-11-11-11, White Rose Queen Pageant, philanthropy, open house, and a memorial ceremony. 60th Anniversary White Rose Week Events: Sunday 11/6 – Sigma Nu Open House The Chapter Memorial Ceremony is postponed to collect more accurate information. We will display a list of the 111 Known Brothers at the Gala who have passed to the Chapter Eternal. 5:30-7:30 P.M. @ Sigma Nu Chapter House Monday 11/7 – White Rose Pageant Dinner for Contestants, Actives, and Alumni 6:30 P.M. @ Sigma Nu Chapter House Tuesday 11/8 – Philanthropy; Canned Food Drive & Campus Bake Sale 10 A.M. – 8 P.M: Canned food drive for Holiday Season @ Sigma Nu Chapter House. 10 A.M. – 1 P.M: Bake sale @ outside Student Union on SJSU Campus. Wednesday 11/9 – “Hype Night” for White Rose Pageant Competition 7 P.M. – 9 P.M. @ Sigma Nu Chapter House Pageant contestants compete in various challenges and obstacle course to earn pageant points. Thursday 11/10 – White Rose Queen Pageant 7 P.M. @ Morris Dailey Auditorium on SJSU Campus; Tickets $10 at the door. Sorority pageant contestants will compete in formal wear, talent, and quiz questions. The lady with the highest score will be crowned Sigma Nu White Rose Queen for the following year, 2011-2012. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event; winners receive various prizes, including Shark's tickets.
